Free Sundae Promotion A Joke

My son recieved a five dollar Baskin Robbins gift certificate through the reading program at his school. We frequent Baskin Robbins a couple of times per month on weekends. My son noticed a huge poster advertising a buy one get one free sundae promotion on Wednesday evenings. He decided he wanted to take his whole family out on a date for sundaes. He brought his gift certificate and seven dollars of his own money. We all ordered sundaes...my son and his brother both got peanut butter cup sundaes, my husband got a carmel sundae, and I ordered a banana split. When it came time to pay, the staff member said banana splits don't count in the promotion. So we needed to pay for three and only get one free. Beleive me when I say my husband argued the lack of clarity in the promotion as the large poster says "Any Sundae, Any Size" and banana splits are the last item mentioned under "Sundaes" on the menu. However, they still made us pay and offered us the owner's phone number while insisting the owner would be on vacation for 3 or 4 weeks. Now, honestly the $5.39 extra that we needed to pay is not going to break us finacially but that is not the point. We were treated badly and won't be returning. My son's family date plan was ruined by poor customer service.

To me its just common sense about the difference between a sundae and a split-not many people would be unclear on that one in my opinion. To be honest Im kind of surprised they let you use the coupon and get a free one plus Im also surprised you would order high dollar items when a little child with his savings is paying.I realize he was excited and wanted to pay but geez cut him a break and order a cheapy next time.
In my 60 years I have never considered a Bana Split and a Sundae the same thing.
Baskin Robbins in Oak Ridge has the MOST HORRIBLE SERVICE I ever experience. After expending about $20.00 in ice cream for me and my family they dinied to give me free cup of WATER for my son! CHEEEEEZ! :( I just expended $20.00 and they can't share with me a couple of WATER! COME ON! How idiots they must be to do that to regular customers, very unthoughtful.
Also, at Oak Ridge branch they NEVER SMILE or are courteious; You can tell by their long faces that they are very unhappy with their jobs and don't want to be there. I went by the drive throught the other and order half gallon of vainilla ice cream and the lady at the window instead of greating me properly as "Good morning, thank you for choosing Baskin Robbins, may I help you?" She said: "What can I get you?" They are CLUELESS about customer service and I they WORTHLESS and HELPLESS folks. I blame this on management, because if the store manager start firing them upon bad customer service complaints then maybe the people will start to put smiling faces and get a grip on customer services. I hate to go to a place where I spend money and people are bitchy with me or my family. I am thinking of never comming back and have friends and family advised of their HORRIBLE SERVICE they provide at OAK RIDGE BRANCH.
does anyone have the Corporate office number so I can make a complaint against one of their co-workers?
I just like the fact that the owner would be on vacation for 3 to 4 weeks. I never knew owning a Baskin Robbins gave you that kind of freedom.
This is for the lady who post: "Free Sundae Promotion A Joke." I can totally simpatize with you because I also have a horrible experience every time I go into Baskin Robbins, please read my complaint that is title: "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE at Oak Ridge Branch." I don't know if these people get the idea that they ate and dress their children out of you and me and many other customers choosing them to have a good evening drinking an ice cream at their place, in other words, what I am trying to say is: They make they paid check because we visit Baskin Robbins and they don't even care to make us happy when we are there. I wonder if top management and reginal managers care at all because I expect to see a difference after my call complaining to the central office. Otherwise, I will kiss Baskin Robbins GOOD BYE and they will loose my business FOREVER!
I took my daughter and wife to Baskin Rorbbins in Texasarkana for a ice cream treat. They ordered double

I wanted to contact you folks in regards to 2 different visits I had to the store in bend Oregon, inside the Fred Meyer shopping center.
1st: I had visited on the 29th of June to get a 3 scoop sundae. Peppermint flavor with marshmallow topping, I did get the sundae to go. When I got to my office and went to eat the sundae the marshmallow topping was dried and all yellow color. I only work about 5 min away from the location. The ice cream was still nice and cold but the topping was in horrible condition. I figured this maybe because they were at the end of the batch or maybe had to use some other type of marshmallow substation. None the less I contacted the store to inform them of the issue so they could look into it before another customer became dissatisfied. They informed me that there was nothing they could do and that that was all the topping they had of that type. They did not offer to replace or fix the sundae at all.
2nd visit, I figured I would wait a few days and visit again with the hopes that maybe the stock of marshmallow topping had been refreshed. I ordered the same type of sundae. This time I specifically asked if the topping was fresh and informed them of my past visit issues. They did confirm that it was and that they replace it very often throughout the day. I stated I was ok with that. When they made the sundae and came to add the topping. I notice them get the topping from a bucket that was different from the dispenser that was used during my previous visit. I asked about it and they said that they don’t really use that much marshmallow during the day so they don’t keep it in their normal dispenser so they can make room for more popular warm toppings. I state that that concerned me. They said that the marshmallow topping does not need to be heated like the other and would be ok. I watched as they poured the topping on. From the distance I was at it looked somewhat normal. Then I checked it when they gave it to me. It did seem to be ok...I paid and left. I walked approx 100 yards to my car got in and checked on the sundae. Again the topping had become all yellow and hard like taffy again. I promptly returned to show them what had happened. And they informed me that that is how the topping is supposed to be. I argued that I have been getting this same item for about 10 years and had never seen the topping do that. They stated that maybe the corporate office changed the type of marshmallow used and that could be why. I did not agree and asked for a refund. They refused and stated that since I had already left the store with the ice cream, I could not return it as they could not ensure that I did not tamper with it. I did not want to push the issue as this is the only Baskin Robbins in our area, and I am afraid of them doing something to my next purchase to taint it as a form of revenge for me troubling them with this issue.
I have had the local Orkin office service my home for the past seven years and was recently dropped by them with my bill forwarded without my knowledge to collections. I have had a problem with the local and there billing structure for the past two years causing me to call the corprate office on ocasion to clear it up. The area office supplying me is the only office in the area and that has caused problems. I have tried to inform them I owed them no money and they sent a bill to collection without my knowledge and the next thing you know, I recieved a call. I have used Orkin even though they diagnosed my home wrong for the sevrice. Recently I had found wholes behind my hot water heater they seemed to never spot. In an area that had to be seen with a flashlight over the years because of how large it was. Orkin took my money for years knowing where my problem was and never fixing it, just servicing and billing me over time.
The local office personel and management have been rude and nasty whenever they get a call for a problem and I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND ORKIN PEST TO anyone again in my life!!!
Wanted everyone to know my location from the above complaint! Washington DC
