Cigarette Butts are litter!!!!

I get so upset when I see people smoking and then they just throw the rest of their cigarette on the ground when they are done with it! How does this not register to these people as littering? How does someone think that it's not a problem to throw trash on the ground instead of just pocketing it until they get to a trash can? Cigarette butts are now everywhere, thanks to the people who throw them! I find butts in my flower garden in the front of my house that I have to pick up because someone was smoking and thought it was a great idea to throw it in my yard! I just don't understand their mentality!

I see a whole new cottage industry springing up to conquer the Butts with butts. Some sort of handy container to put their butt in until they can dispose of it. Yeah, like the lazy toads would even try to be tidy. It is a disgustingly dirty habit (I know, I used to smoke too) and only made worse by morons who throw their butts.

I am a smoker and nothing makes me sicker then to see butts strewn all over the place. I cannot stand it. I cannot even stand to see them in an ashtray much less all over the lawn, street, etc. If you are going to smoke people, clean up your butts! :-)

I couldn't possibly agree more.
My favorite is driving down the highway at night and some jackass in front of me flicks his butt out the window.
It hits my windshield and make pretty red sparks. It's great.

Get a life, I really do think there are more important things you could concern yourself with.

thers war an thrird world poverty, an your cryin over fag ends, sort your life out, i smoke an i"ll throw my butts anywere i choose, after all there biodegradable so its not actually litterin,

I so, so, so agree. And to "chill" the twat, I dare reply: first get a life (and a dictionary, could help), second get an education. Third (but I'm dreaming here) learn that cigarette butts ARE NOT biodegradable before several years: they are NOT made of paper, but of cellulose acetate, which is plastic.

Idiot.

Throwing cigarette butts is just a sign, of course. It's not the throwing away that hurts, but the carelessness, which is much more deeply rooted, and is much nastier. Witness "chill"'s reaction. But in turn, these people should not actually expect me to be gentle with them...

Chill, is only an example, of the uneducated living amongst us in the world. The vocabulary is just one example. There are a lot of responsible smokers. I am not a smoker, but I know there are many responsible smoker. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of idiots like Chill whom don't care and believe that their cigarettes are biodegradable. They are toxic. I have a next door neighbor whom smokes and throws it on their yard and mine. It is frustrating because when it rains the toxins in cigarettes enter my flower bed, grass, and garden and do harm. The neighbor that I live is a lot like Chill. People like Chill, are the reason why so many non-smokers have issue with smokers. Yes there is the 2nd hand smoke risk, which is great, but the littering only adds to these issues.

take the cigarette litter test! :D - esp. for Chill - http://www.cigarettelitter.org/index.asp?PageName=Quiz
